What I hope for my son is that he always questions the world. That he believes there’s good in all humanity. That he doesn’t judge people. That people don’t need your love when you are good; they need it more they’re bad.… And to always be seeking the truth.… The most powerful force in the whole entire universe is the truth. It scares the living shit out of people. And when you tell it, whatever consequence, it’s worth it. And that’s what I hope for my son.… I hope that he will never lose his heart… and I hope he knows that I did the best that I could with what I had.
We are all equal. We are all people. The reality is that anybody can be where I am.… And we should be, we should be commended for leaving abusive relationships, that we put our children first. And, because of this social status that goes along with living on the cheque, life on the cheque, women will stay in a potentially abusive situation. Their children will get abused, physically and mentally and emotionally. Women will jump at the first boyfriend they see so they won’t have to live on the system.
